For Christian Wives Podcast Episode #31- Listener questions

About this episode

Again, we address listener questions. Specifically:

  1. I would love if you could discuss how to get OUT of the mood (for those of us with husbands who just aren’t that interested)… I also long to know what it’s like to be a wife who is loved and desired by her husband. I’ve tried making peace with the fact that this may not be the plan for my life.
  2. How do I get past my husbands sexual past? How do I let it go and not let it interfere with our marriage bed?
  3. Is it medically bad for you to have anal sex , with your spouse? And do you believe it is wrong for man and wife to engage in anal sex?

From the Bible

What does God have to say about these topics? (Scriptures mentioned in episode)

Higher-Drive Wife

Drink water from your own cistern,
running water from your own well.
Should your springs overflow in the streets,
your streams of water in the public squares?
Let them be yours alone,
never to be shared with strangers.
May your fountain be blessed,
and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.
A loving doe, a graceful deer—
may her breasts satisfy you always,
may you ever be intoxicated with her love.

Proverbs 5:15-19

Sexual Past

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! – 1 Corinthians 5:17

Anal Sex

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. – Romans 1:26-27

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. – 1 Corinthians 10:23-24

Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. – 1 Peter 3:7
